I agree with Obama's strive for social equality. For too long there has been a growing gap between the social classes. The rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poor. The top 1 percent of Americans hold almost 40% of all household wealth according to David Callhan piece, The Cheating Culture. Why should there be no changes in federal power to close the economic gap? I like how Obama is trying to even out the playing field. We need to stop trying to keep the rich wealthy and poor without money. Its time America lends a true helping hand to bottom half of the economic ladder

Obama should be focusing on trying to make things fair for all people. The world would be much better if everyone had equal advantages. It is not fair that 1%of Ameicans have the majority of the money in the United States and there are so many other people suffering. Those who have no money need help and that's why it is important for Obama to keep working on this issue.
I agree with Shanika Reynolds, he is attempting something no one else has done. It may seem like he's making a bigger mess and may not be able to finish what he started in one term so he may loose a couple votes. All people should be allowed to make money to support themselves
I dont think Obama is right trying to make everyone equal. Almost everyone in the world has the same problems, and everyone has diffrent ways to handle them. The wealthy people worked hard for there money and i think that the people without money should do the same. I feel is has nothing to do with color its about your work ethic and how determined you are to get of the bottom half of the economic ladder as shanicka reynolds said
I feel that as of right now most of everything in America is about black vs white. The majority of wealthy people are white and more blacks are poor so of course more blacks are going to agree with Obama's plan than whites are. Im not sure that what Obama is trying to do can change this issue. If done right maybe, but i do believe that if everyone has an equal playing field than we wouldnt have to think if there is a black vs white issue in america.

I don't think everything is Black vs White anymore. I'm not saying the world perfect now but its better than it was 50 years ago and Obama as president is proof.
i believe obama is trying his best to focus on all the issues that affect america today. as the president he hasnt lost sight of change and as a citizen he believes in equality. whats wrong with that. i think some people dont give him enough credit , and remember there's only so much he can do . America cannot be fixed in two terms.
@Vanessa- thank you people look at president obama like if he is a miracle worker and because he is an african-american he is suppose to fix everything that president bush had messed up. Rome was not build in a day so i dont know what they are expecting president obama to do he is still working hard and trying to do the best he could they need to leave him alone.
